Oxfordshire, commonly shortened to 'Oxon' is a South Eastern English county, with borders to Warwickshire and Northamptonshire (to the north/northeast), Buckinghamshire (to the east), Berkshire (to the south), Wiltshire (to the southwest) and Gloucestershire (to the west).

A county of green and rolling hills and agricultural land, the highest points are the Chilterns in the East and the Vale of White Horse in the South.

Historically, the county was divided into fourteen "hundreds", namely Bampton, Banbury, Binfield, Bloxham, Bullingdon, Chadlington, Dorchester, Ewelme, Langtree, Lewknor, Pyrton, Ploughley, Thame and Wootton.
